1. About Us

1.1 These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website located at removalistservice.com.au ("the Website") and any services provided by Removalist Service ("we", "us", "our").

1.2 Removalist Service is a logistics coordination service based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. We coordinate residential and commercial relocation services by connecting clients with independent service providers and workers.

1.3 We are a coordinator, not a removalist. Removalist Service does not directly perform removalist, transport, or labour services. We manage the logistics, scheduling, and coordination of those services on your behalf.

1.4 By using our Website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our Website or services.

2. Services

2.1 What We Provide

(a)Logistics coordination and scheduling for residential and commercial relocations;
(b)Matching of clients with independent service providers (removalist companies) and independent workers (drivers and offsiders);
(c)Job management, communication facilitation, and coordination support throughout your move.

2.2 What We Do Not Provide

(a)We do not directly supply removalist, transport, or manual labour services;
(b)We do not guarantee the availability of specific service providers or workers for any given date or time;
(c)We do not act as an employer of the service providers or workers assigned to your job.

2.3 Service Providers and Workers

(a)The individuals and businesses performing your move are independent contractors engaged by Removalist Service under separate agreements;
(b)While we take care in selecting and managing our network of providers, Removalist Service is not liable for the acts or omissions of independent service providers or workers beyond what is set out in these Terms;
(c)All service providers and workers in our network are required to hold appropriate insurances and licences as a condition of engagement.

3. Bookings

3.1 How to Book

(a)Bookings may be made via the Website, by phone, or by email;
(b)A booking is confirmed only when you receive written confirmation from Removalist Service;
(c)We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.

3.2 Accuracy of Information

You must provide accurate and complete information when making a booking, including:

(a)Correct pickup and delivery addresses;
(b)An accurate description of items to be moved, including any large, fragile, or high-value items;
(c)Access requirements (stairs, narrow hallways, lifts, parking restrictions, etc.);
(d)Any special handling requirements. Providing inaccurate information may result in additional charges, delays, or inability to complete the job.

3.3 Confirmation

Once a booking is confirmed, you will receive a Job Confirmation outlining the agreed scope, date, time, and quoted price. Please review this carefully and notify us of any errors immediately.

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Quotes

(a)All quotes provided are based on the information you supply. Quotes are estimates unless confirmed as fixed in writing;
(b)Additional charges may apply where the actual scope of work differs from what was described at the time of booking (e.g. more items, additional floors, access difficulties).

4.2 Payment

(a)Payment terms will be set out in your Job Confirmation;
(b)Payment is due in full by the date or time specified in your Job Confirmation;
(c)All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD);
(d)GST will be itemised on your invoice where applicable.

4.3 Overdue Payments

If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to:

(a)Charge interest on overdue amounts at the rate of 10% per annum calculated daily;
(b)Engage a debt collection service to recover the outstanding amount;
(c)Recover reasonable debt collection costs from you.

5. Cancellations and Changes

5.1 Cancellation by You

5.2 Changes to Your Booking

(a)Changes to your booking (date, time, scope) must be requested in writing as soon as possible;
(b)We will do our best to accommodate changes but cannot guarantee availability;
(c)Changes made with less than 24 hours notice may incur an administration fee.

5.3 Cancellation by Us

(a)We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking where circumstances beyond our control make it impractical to proceed (e.g. extreme weather, provider unavailability);
(b)Where we cancel, we will notify you as soon as practicable and offer an alternative date or a full refund of any prepaid amounts.

6. Your Responsibilities

6.1 Before the Job

You are responsible for:

(a)Ensuring all items are ready to be moved at the agreed start time;
(b)Ensuring clear, safe access to and from the property;
(c)Arranging parking for the removal vehicle (where required);
(d)Disconnecting appliances, disassembling furniture, and packing items unless these services have been specifically included in your booking;
(e)Removing or securing fragile, high-value, or sentimental items that you do not want handled by the crew;
(f)Informing us of any items that are particularly fragile, dangerous, or legally restricted.

6.2 Prohibited Items

The following items cannot be transported under any circumstances:

(a)Firearms, ammunition, or weapons (unless licensed and arrangements are made in advance);
(b)Illegal substances or contraband;
(c)Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or chemicals;
(d)Perishable goods (unless agreed in writing);
(e)Live animals or plants (unless agreed in writing);
(f)Cash, jewellery, or documents of high value (we strongly recommend you transport these personally).

6.3 Safe Environment

You must ensure the working environment is reasonably safe for the crew. If the crew encounters an unsafe environment, they may halt work until the issue is resolved.

7. Damage and Liability

7.1 Our Commitment

Removalist Service takes reasonable steps to ensure service providers and workers in our network handle your belongings with care. All providers are required to hold public liability and goods in transit insurance.

7.2 Reporting Damage

(a)Any damage to goods or property must be reported to us in writing within 24 hours of job completion;
(b)Reports must include a description of the damage and photographs where possible;
(c)Claims made after 24 hours may not be accepted.

7.3 Limitations

(a)We are not liable for damage to items that were not disclosed or were improperly packed by you;
(b)We are not liable for pre-existing damage to items;
(c)We are not liable for damage to fragile, antique, or high-value items unless those items were specifically disclosed and special handling was agreed in writing;
(d)We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special loss including loss of use, loss of income, or emotional distress.

7.4 Maximum Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with any single job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

7.5 Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot be lawfully excluded. If you are a consumer, you may have statutory guarantees that apply regardless of these Terms.

8. Professional Conduct Guarantee

8.1 Our Standards

Removalist Service requires all service providers and workers operating through our platform to:

(a)Conduct themselves professionally and respectfully toward all customers at all times;
(b)Arrive on time and in a fit state to perform the job;
(c)Treat your home, premises, and belongings with care;
(d)Communicate honestly and clearly throughout the job;
(e)Hold all required licences and insurances.

8.2 Reporting Misconduct

If you experience unprofessional conduct, including rudeness, aggression, dishonesty, or any misconduct by a service provider or worker, please report it to us immediately. We take all complaints seriously and will investigate promptly. Substantiated misconduct may result in immediate removal of the provider or worker from our network.

9. Privacy

9.1 We collect and handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

9.2 Your personal information is used to process your booking, coordinate your move, communicate with you, and improve our services.

9.3 We may share your information with service providers and workers to the extent necessary to carry out your job.

9.4 We will not sell your personal information to third parties.

10. Website Use

10.1 Acceptable Use

You must not use our Website to:

(a)Post false, misleading, or deceptive content;
(b)Interfere with the Website's operation or security;
(c)Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website or its systems;
(d)Scrape, copy, or reproduce Website content without our written consent.

10.2 Intellectual Property

All content on this Website, including text, images, logos, and software, is owned by or licensed to Removalist Service. You may not copy, reproduce, or use our content without written permission.

11. Governing Law

11.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

11.2 Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
